This is an overview of the groups who interact and engage in building relationships and completing projects with our brothers and sisters in El Salvador.

Heartland International Mission (HIM) is a volunteer committee at Heartland Presbyterian Church.  Heartland Presbyterian Church is located in Clive, IA.  Heartland's mission is to be a Christ-centered community focused on creative and inclusive worship, spiritual growth, and service.

Heartland International Mission consists of a small group of volunteer members of the church. They are responsible for organizing delegation trips, communicating with the mission co-worker and congregation to keep everyone aware of the needs and projects in the cantons, and tracking financial donations and expenses of the mission.

Companero's is the coordinating body for the Des Moines Presbytery's El Salvador mission. Their responsibilities include educating people in the Des Moines Presbytery and others about the work of the mission, assisting churches who wish to organize delegations, promoting specific projects which support the mission and fundraising.

Mission Co-Worker is located in Berlin, Usulatan, El Salvador and has the responsibility to coordinate delegations, communicate status of projects between the cantons in El Salvador to the churches in the United States, and assist the Pastoral Team in providing basic community needs.

Pastoral Team consists of seven volunteers from the Berlin area.  Their responsibilities include organization and education for community leadership, project facilitation between the church partnerships and the communities, financial management for projects, and other basic requests for health, education, food, and clothing that come to the house everyday.

Cantons, El Tablon Centro and El Tablon Cerna are located in the Berlin area in Usulatan, El Salvador.  El Tablon Centro has approximately 65 families and El Tablon Cerna has around 40
families.  The families in El Tablon lack many of the basic human needs such as clean drinking water, food, shelter, clothing, and literacy.

The goal as a team is to build lasting relationships and help those in need by giving what we are able to give through love, compassion, guidance, and funding for projects that will help individuals sustain their life and family for a better future.
