walking in solidarity

Heartland Presbyterian Church's International Mission Committee has been involved in building relationships with rural communities and helping the extremely poor in El Salvador for over 10 years. The Heartland International Mission committee is passionately committed to walking with the people of these communities and enabling them to sustainably improve their lives. We do this through a combination of planning, partnering, communicating and encountering the hardships of life together, face-to-face.
Why you should explore this site:
Heartland International Mission Committee (H.I.M) would like to share its journey with you. We encounter and walk side-by-side with the amazing people of El Salvador. We have heard their stories, shared their hardships and become friends. Our journey together with the people of El Salvador is an enduring labor of love for all of us involved in this relationship. This site is a brief overview of who we are, the people that we work with, what we have accomplished together and where we will focus our efforts in the future. This work is something that touches our hearts and which can most effectively be communicated by intimately understanding and experiencing it. It is our intention to share a variety of these experiences with you.

You will also see our mission focus and that our results are driven by volunteers, their donated time and resources. If you are so inclined, you will find ways that you can help join in the adventure by becoming part of the team, by offering your skills and talents, and investing your time. We will also share ways that you can help us build financial resources for the project initiatives that will dramatically improve the lives of these people.
